AOE Annual Report (2025)

We are pleased to share with you the 2025 annual report of Annals of Esophagus (AOE). In 2025, with the joint effort and support of all contributors, AOE was indexed by Web of Science and increased website pageviews and visitors. For more details, please see the following report.

Review of extranodal extension grading for esophageal cancer: three-dimensional radiologic, surgical and pathologic findings

(C) Grade 2 shows tumor extending >1 mm beyond the nodal capsule (yellow line on the schematic) (hematoxylin-eosin stain; original magnification, ×5). (D) Grade 3 shows metastatic lymph nodes in which carcinoma extend beyond the original nodal area (dotted circle), accompanied by complete destruction of nodal architecture (hematoxylin-eosin stain; original magnification, ×5).

A case report of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with schwannoma-like features: from diagnosis to surgical management

Histology of the resected specimen. (A,B) The resected specimens showed a moderately differentiated invasive squamous cell carcinoma with (C) lymph node metastases (H&E). (D,E) Reactive connective tissue was identified around the squamous cell carcinoma, but there was no discrete neural proliferation (H&E). Images were acquired at 4× (A,C) and 20× (B,D,E) objective magnification. Original images were color balanced and cropped for presentation. No other digital alterations were performed. H&E, hematoxylin and eosin.

This milestone underscores our ongoing commitment to publishing impactful research in the field.
