Yin Li, MD, PhD, FRCS
Dr. Yin Li was the former Vice President of The Affiliated Cancer Hospital of ZhengzZhou University/Henan Cancer Hospital and the former Director of Thoracic Surgery Department in the hospital. Since May 2018, Dr. Li has been the Director of the Esophageal Surgery Division, Department of Thoracic Surgery, Cancer Institute & Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College; National Cancer Center, Beijing, China.
Dr Li graduated from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. He has engaged in the profession of thoracic surgical oncology for 29 years. His clinical practice involves complex lung and esophageal cancer cases. As an investigator, he focuses on multimodality approaches in esophageal and lung cancers and evaluating surgical procedure to reduce postoperative complications of esophagectomy and lobectomy. He applied the concept ”non-tube no fasting” of fast tract surgery in esophageal surgery and achieved the success of which patients with esophageal cancer could start early oral feeding at will on the first day after esophagectomy and those patients did not need nasogastric tube and nasal feeding tube postoperatively. He is involved in several nationwide projects as PI or co-PI.
Dr Li is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). He is also a member of multiple international/national professional groups, including International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group(ITMIG), The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer(IASLC), International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus(ISDE), Chinese Society for Diseases of the Esophagus(CSDE), Chinese Lung Cancer Collaborative Group (Chairman of Midwest), The Standing Committee of Chinese Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Chinese Society of Thoracic Surgeons Expert Committee of Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Dr Li is also an editorial board member of several peer-reviewed journals, and he has published more than 100 scientific articles.
