Prof. Jankowski joined Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in March 2018 as Director (Corporate) Chief Research & Innovation Officer and Deputy Vice Chancellor. In these distinct roles, Prof. Jankowski is responsible for evolving RCSI’s research and enterprise partnerships locally, nationally and internationally.

Prof. Jankowski brings proven senior academic management and research leadership experience. This includes roles as Head, Senior Fellow, Vice Dean and Pro-Vice Chancellor, at the Universities of Leicester, Oxford and Plymouth and Central Lancashire, respectively.

Prof. Jankowski maintains a highly successful research profile, with an outstanding track record of published articles in high-impact journals and he has significant and sustained competitive research funding. He is internationally recognized for his research on cancer prevention, including adult stem cell science, translational genomics and large-scale clinical trials. This esteem is manifest by many plenary lectures, research prize accolades, invited faculty executive roles and international advisory networks.
