Yuji Tachimori, MD

Dr. Yuji Tachimori is the Deputy Director of Kawasaki Saiwai Hospital and the Chief of Cancer Care Center in this hospital.

Dr. Tachimori graduated from Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Tokyo, Japan. He had engaged in the profession of esophageal surgical oncology in The National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo for 30 years. His clinical practice involves esophageal cancer cases. As an investigator, he focuses on radical esophagectomy, especially three-field dissection in multimodality approaches in esophageal cancer. He has also promoted salvage esophagectomy after definitive chemoradiotherapy in organ preserving era. He had been involved in several nationwide clinical trials for multimodality approaches in esophageal cancer.

Dr. Tachimori is a member of International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus and the Japan Esophageal Society (Member of the board of directors, Director of the Registration Committee for Esophageal Cancer, Committee member of Japanese Classification of Esophageal Cancer).

Dr. Tachimori is also an editorial board member of several journals, and he has published more than 100 scientific articles.
